The Kind Diet Book

I wanted to tell you guys a little bit about what motivated me to become a vegetarian.

About 13 years ago, I was a omnivore. No, I was not always a vegetarian. But I knew I was at heart somehow. I was picky with the meat I ate, I over cooked EVERYTHING, and I typically liked meat that didn’t represent meat.

When I was about 10 years old, I did decide to stop eating meat because it just didn’t seem right. Man oh man, my parents were not happy to cook different meals. But they did. I am thankful to have a chef as a dad, so that helped.  I slowly went back to my omnivore ways one year at a time.


Fast forward about 10 years ahead. I cant recall exactly, but I was about 20 years old. I woke up one day, and said NOPE. I am not healthy, happy or doing what I believe in. So I went to the book store and bought The Kind Diet.

It may sound a little hokey but I read it in one day and it CHANGED MY LIFE. It was like she explained everything I always felt my whole life about my food choices. Who’s not to say, that I could have read ANY vegetarian book that day and it would have impacted me. But this one was wrote very well and spoke to me.

Its talks about the impact you have on world and you by eating a plant only based diet.

Also, the recipes are AMAZING! After reading this book, I was strictly vegan for about two years. I now rarely eat eggs and cheese. I don’t drink cows milk, but I am a huge fan of unsweetened almond milk. Yumm!!!

Also, on a side note, Alicia wrote another book I have not read yet. Has anyone read this? What are your thoughts?
